Map Coordinates

Drop a pin straight to your door.

How it works

Map Coordinates

A location QR code turns 'where are you?' into a single scan. Instead of typing an address, the user's phone opens your exact coordinates in their preferred maps app, ready for directions.

Your venue29.76, -95.36
Step 01

Set the location

Pick your point on the map or enter latitude and longitude directly for pinpoint accuracy.

Step 02

Generate the code

The coordinates are encoded into the QR. Scanning opens the location in the device's default maps app.

Step 03

Place it where it helps

On invitations, storefronts, packaging or event signage — anywhere people need to find you.

Pro tip

Coordinates beat a typed address for precision — especially for venues with a hard-to-find entrance or no clear street number.

Practical notes

A location code opens a map, it does not track anyone

The code carries a pair of coordinates. Scanning it opens the device's default map application at that point. Nothing is sent to us, and no location is collected from the person scanning.

Coordinates beat an address

A written address depends on a geocoder guessing correctly, which goes wrong for new builds, rural properties, large sites and anywhere with duplicate street names. A coordinate pair points at exactly the spot you dropped the pin, including a specific entrance or loading bay.

Drop the pin where you want people to arrive

For a venue with several entrances, a car park or a site office, place the pin at the door you want used rather than at the centre of the building. It is the difference between a visitor arriving and a visitor phoning you.

Pair the code with a line of text

A bare code on a sign gives no reason to scan it. 'Scan for directions to the north entrance' converts far better, and it tells someone who cannot scan where to go anyway. The same applies on printed invitations and delivery instructions: the code saves typing, the text carries the meaning if the code fails.

Questions

Common questions

Which map app does the code open?

Whichever the device uses by default — Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps on most Android phones. The code carries standard coordinates rather than a link to one provider.

Does a location QR code work offline?

The code itself is read offline, since the coordinates are inside the pattern. Showing the map needs a connection unless the person has offline maps saved.

Can I use an address instead of coordinates?

You can search for an address and the map will place a pin, which you can then drag to the exact spot. What gets encoded is the final coordinate pair, so accuracy is yours to control.
