Download Formats
PNG, SVG and PDF — the right file for every job.
Download Formats
The format you download decides how good your code looks in the wild. I Smart QR gives you three, each suited to a different destination, all free of any added watermark.
PNG for screens
A pixel image, ideal for websites, email, social posts and slides. Export at a generous resolution so it stays crisp.
SVG for print and scaling
A vector file described by math, so it stays perfectly sharp from a business card to a billboard. The professional choice for print.
PDF for handoff
A print-ready document with exact dimensions, perfect for sending to a designer or print shop.
Where it delivers
Digital campaigns
PNG drops straight into emails, banners and social graphics.
Large-format print
SVG scales to any poster or signage size without blurring.
Professional printing
PDF preserves dimensions and quality for a print provider.

Pick the format by where the code is going
PNG is a grid of pixels: right for screens, email signatures and anywhere a fixed size is fine. SVG is maths: it stays sharp at any size, which is what you want for anything printed, from a business card to a vehicle wrap. PDF wraps the vector artwork in a page a print shop can drop straight into a layout.
Export larger than you think you need
Scaling a PNG up softens the module edges and that is exactly what a decoder struggles with. If there is any chance the code will be enlarged, export SVG. If it must be PNG, export at least twice the final pixel size.
Keep the quiet zone
The blank margin around a code is part of the code. Cropping tight to the modules is one of the most common reasons a printed code fails. Every export here includes the margin; leave it in place when you drop the file into a layout.
Common questions
Which format should I use for printing?
SVG or PDF. Both are vector, so the code stays crisp whether it is printed at 2 cm or 2 metres. PNG is fine for screens but will soften if someone scales it up.
Is there a size limit on the PNG export?
The export is generated at a high resolution suitable for most print work. For very large format, use SVG so there is no resolution to run out of.
Can I edit the downloaded file?
Yes. SVG opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma and most design tools, so you can place it in a layout or recolour the frame. Avoid moving or resizing individual modules.
